Parent progress tracking

See what your child is learning — and exactly where they need support.

Parents will have access to a secure progress portal, giving you a clear lesson-by-lesson view of your child’s tuition. After each session, the tutor records what was covered, progress made, strengths, weak points and the next areas to focus on.

Dr Rachid’s interview programme

  • The programme begins with a comprehensive introduction to the MMI format: structure, expectations, assessment criteria and the most common themes seen across UK medical schools.
  • Although stations vary between universities and from year to year, preparation focuses on the core themes and station types that recur across medical interviews.
  • Subsequent sessions are fully personalised using the candidate’s experiences, achievements and individual strengths, so they learn how to apply their own evidence to a wide range of scenarios.
  • Dr Rachid provides interviewer-level feedback on the qualities medical schools look for beyond grades, including communication, critical thinking, empathy, ethical reasoning and professionalism.
  • For many candidates, around three to four focused sessions can provide comprehensive preparation, with additional sessions available where needed.

What candidates should be able to do

  • Understand the MMI format, expectations and assessment criteria.
  • Recognise core MMI themes and common station types.
  • Apply their own experiences and strengths effectively to different scenarios.
  • Give confident, structured answers to challenging questions.
  • Demonstrate empathy, ethical reasoning, critical thinking and professionalism.
  • Approach stations with greater adaptability and a clearer understanding of what interviewers are assessing.

Progress tracking between sessions

  • Tutors keep note of recurring interview weak points, feedback themes and areas that need more practice so preparation remains personalised.
  • Previous weak areas are revisited in later sessions to check that feedback has been applied and that responses, communication and confidence are improving.

What a session looks like

This is not a generic question bank. Coaching is designed around the individual candidate and uses interviewer-style challenge, follow-up questioning and detailed feedback to refine judgement, communication and the ability to articulate personal experiences effectively.

Quality & safeguarding: all tutors are DBS checked and safeguarding trained. With student consent, sessions may be recorded for quality assurance so teaching standards can be reviewed and maintained.
How the parent progress portal works

A clear record of each lesson, not just a general progress update.

Once your child begins tuition, parents can be given access to the secure progress portal used by Trojan Tutoring. The portal acts as one place to follow the tuition taking place between lessons.

  1. After the lesson, the tutor records the session. This includes the main topics covered, what the student understood well and any areas where they struggled.
  2. Weak points are identified and carried forward. If a topic is not yet secure, it is recorded so the next tutor session can revisit it through recap, retrieval questions or further exam practice.
  3. Parents can follow the history over time. Rather than relying on occasional verbal updates, you can see what has been taught from lesson to lesson and how previously identified weaknesses are developing.
  4. Next steps stay visible. The tutor can use the previous lesson record to plan what should be reinforced, practiced or progressed next.

Important: The portal is used to organise and share the information. Your Trojan tutor is the person who assesses the student’s strengths, identifies weak points and decides what needs to be revisited.
