How we teach student-led interview preparation
- We explain the interview or MMI format, typical station structure and the qualities universities commonly assess.
- Candidates practice realistic questions and stations, then receive specific feedback on content, structure, communication and delivery.
- Preparation is personalised around the student’s own experiences, work experience, volunteering, achievements and reasons for choosing Medicine or Dentistry.
- Tutors help students turn genuine experiences into strong evidence without sounding scripted or memorised.
What we want to help with
- MMI structure and station technique.
- Motivation for Medicine or Dentistry and reflection on experience.
- Ethics, professionalism, empathy and communication.
- Role-play, teamwork, prioritisation and difficult-scenario questions.
- Explaining personal strengths, weaknesses and learning points clearly.
- Building confidence while keeping answers natural and authentic.
Progress tracking between sessions
- Tutors keep note of recurring interview weak points, feedback themes and areas that need more practice so preparation remains personalised.
- Previous weak areas are revisited in later sessions to check that feedback has been applied and that responses, communication and confidence are improving.
What a session looks like
Sessions are practice-led. Candidates answer questions under realistic conditions, receive feedback immediately and then repeat or refine responses so improvements are visible within the session.
Quality & safeguarding: all tutors are DBS checked and safeguarding trained. With student consent, sessions may be recorded for quality assurance so teaching standards can be reviewed and maintained.
