How we support personal statements
- We begin by identifying the strongest experiences, achievements and reflections the student already has.
- We help organise ideas into a coherent structure so each paragraph has a purpose and adds something new.
- Feedback focuses on reflection: what the student learned, how they developed and why an experience matters to their chosen course.
- We edit for clarity, concision and flow while preserving the student’s own voice and avoiding generic wording.
What we want to help with
- Choosing which experiences are worth including.
- Turning descriptions into meaningful reflection.
- Creating a strong opening and logical overall structure.
- Removing repetition, vague claims and unnecessary filler.
- Making the statement sound authentic, specific and course-focused.
What a session looks like
Students can bring a blank plan, rough notes or an existing draft. The session is adapted to the stage they are at, with practical edits and next steps rather than having the statement written for them.
Quality & safeguarding: all tutors are DBS checked and safeguarding trained. With student consent, sessions may be recorded for quality assurance so teaching standards can be reviewed and maintained.
